Taylor is still lying fast asleep in my arms when I wake up the next morning and I know I have to get up as I have some things to do. I have to see the manager and take a look at the room for the wedding. I slip out from under her, open up the case and pull out some jeans, a jumper, underwear and the wash bag then leave it in the bathroom after brushing my teeth. I kiss her forehead and her pouty lips softly then leave the room, closing the door behind me and let her sleep.
My phone rings from my pocket as I walk towards the main reception. Pulling it I see it’s Adam, swiping across the screen I lift it to my ear.
“Hey bud.”
“Hey. We’ll be driving up to Scotland. The doctor doesn’t think Darcy should fly even if it is short.”
“Is everything okay?” Shit. My feet stop walking as I listen to him. “That’s a long drive. If you can’t make it I totally understand.”
“Bro? Try keeping us away. No, we’re leaving today we’ll be there tomorrow at some point, we’ll stay in a hotel overnight so she can get some rest and we’ll have a couple of stops to stretch her legs. We’ll leave tonight.
“So how did the scan go?”
“She’s got a low-lying placenta, it’s covering the cervix at the moment but they’re hoping it’ll move enough for her to give birth naturally, if not they’re going to book her in for a C-section. They’ve got her booked in for another scan next week once we’re home.”
“She’s okay though, yeah?”
“Oh yeah mate. It happens a lot apparently.”
“Good. Okay let me know when you leave and I’ll see you tomorrow. I’ve left Taylor sleeping so I can get this meeting with the hotel manager out of the way, I’ll speak to you later.”
“Yeah no probs. Laters.”
“Oh, and Ad?” I wait for the answer on the other end, “drive safe.”
“Always do.” The phone clicks off so I slide it back into my pocket. I stand at the reception doors and head in.
The brunette girl smiles as I walk through the door and towards the desk. I tell her who I’m here to see and my name and she goes through to an office. Mr McLachlan greets me with a firm handshake and takes me through to his office.
We sit and discuss for over half an hour until he takes me though to a venue room but I don’t want anything too big it’s only family here. He shows me the grounds where we can hold a service but it’ll be cold outside. After showing me the grounds it’s settled, the area is huge with the mountain backdrop too makes it even more scenic. There’s a hard frost on the ground at the moment, according to the weather app on my phone it’s saying minus two degrees, it’s fucking freezing.
Once we agree on venue and I’ve paid him some money up front, I head off to find us some breakfast.
